So I am in the process of changing careers and it has been difficult. Lately I have been thinking about taking a job in my old profession just so I can make more money. It is especially tempting because I have been working freelance and the work has been sporadic. As I was coming home today after a busy week I was thinking about how I needed to write a post for this blog and my subconscious told me what I needed to know. I need resolve.
So, here it is. I resolve to not go back to a job that does get me closer to where I want to go. I resolve to stay focused on my goals. I resolve that despite the difficulties I will be successful. I resolve I will do what it takes to get paid doing the things I would do even if no one paid me.
Resolve is a very powerful thing. When you have resolve you can do things that would otherwise be impossible. With resolve burdens are lightened and pain is numbed. With resolve you can look to your goal and put all your energy to achieving it.
I can do this because I know I can. I will do this because I resolve to do it. I can do whatever I set my mind to because that is all it takes. I will think clearly and stay focused because my resolve allows me to avoid distractions.
